For millennia man lived spontaneously in the Alpine environment, almost in symbiosis with nature, without consuming its resources, subsisting solely on sheep farming and the fruits of the earth. For a long time, man did not dare to venture (except in rare cases) to the Alpine peaks, considered inaccessible and populated by evil spirits.
