Un'estate in rifugio

The sun rose and everything around us lit up with a light that covered the landscape with joy, spreading first on the spiers, then on the glacier and snowfields, until it touched the two of us sitting embraced on the rock. "How wonderful..." my father whispered, and he lay down more comfortably on the flat stone with me next to him. So we fell asleep, at the dawn of a bright sunny day that washed away every apprehension and desire to escape to the valley. When I woke up I had made up my mind. My holiday was there. Some summers are unforgettable. So much happens that when you go back to school in September, you're a different person. For Giorgio it is the summer of his thirteen years, the one that he finds himself forced to spend in a refuge near La Thuile, in the Aosta Valley, far from the comforts of home and Turin. In fact, the father has decided to abandon his job at the bank to dedicate himself to managing the refuge, while his mother will go to teach in a French school. Giorgio doesn't understand: why, out of the blue, do his parents seem to want to change their lives at all costs? Why can't he take it as well as his brother Luca? But above all, how will he survive for three very long months without friends and without Margherita? Not all questions will be answered at the refuge, but new friends, breathtaking views and exciting adventures await him in the mountains. And then there is Katina, the mysterious girl with copper-colored curls who will make all her certainties collapse...
