A story in images of the life of "the Sentinel of the Dolomites" Carlo Budel, who a few years ago resigned from the factory to embrace the mountains and become the caretaker of the Punta Penìa hut, on the Marmolada at an altitude of 3,343 metres. In this book, which collects his shots and those of some photographers who accompanied him on his adventures, there are the "home" peaks in the Belluno mountains where Carlo goes walking; the hut on the roof of the Dolomites, which he guards in solitude and with love in the summer; endless horizons, enchanted dawns and fiery sunsets; his outings with Paris, the wolf dog who would follow him even to the ends of the world and finally a cuddle for his readers: the recipe for his legendary deep-sea strudel.
