Not just a book of hiking itineraries, with the description of how to reach the established destination. On the paths of the park rangers wants to accompany the discovery of the many aspects of the Park: naturalistic, historical and human, with a particular eye to those who dedicate their lives to the protection of a first-rate environment, such as the territory of the Gran Paradiso National Park. A long story takes us into the thoughts of an imaginary park ranger to know and understand the past, present and future of his work. An introductory part precedes the story; then follows the description of 30 itineraries (with over 100 color photographs) which almost all have one of the surveillance huts used by the park rangers as their final destination. At the end of the description of each route, a box delves into a particularly important topic encountered during the journey. Another peculiarity of the book is the subdivision of the itineraries by season, in order to indicate the best period to undertake the excursion. This book hopes to "bring hikers closer" to the Park, to its people and to its nature, leaving aside, at least for once, the hassle and competition of arriving, of reaching that destination or that peak.
