L’alta via dei Monti Liguri

This guide originates, with many updates and modifications, from the previous volume "Alte Vie della Liguria", winner of the 2003 Anthia prize for the Ligurian book of the year. In addition to the main route of the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri, numerous variants are reported in the guide, including that of Montemarcello which constitutes an extension of the Alta Via up to Bocca di Magra, and that of the Cinque Terre which starting from Portovenere arrives at Monte Zatta. The volume also describes fifty other paths that connect the Alta Via to the inhabited centers of the coast and the hinterland, developing across the entire range of Liguria, from the Val di Vara in the hinterland of La Spezia, up to the Val Roia to the hamlet with France. All of this forms a vast and complex network of itineraries, which can be combined in a thousand different ways: to make crossings, circular tours, or more simply short walks through the woods, along ancient mule tracks or on panoramic ridges.
