Year: 1996 Format: 13x23 Pages: 94 Photos: b/w col After the "Guide to the routes of the Via Francigena in Tuscany", this volume continues the journey along the medieval artery by examining the presumable routes from the borders of the Tuscan territory to Rome , "terminus itineris multorum". The proposed itinerary is therefore an itinerary for Upper Lazio, in search of traces of the ancient road, here substantially coinciding with the Roman Cassia, and of the testimonies that the medieval pilgrimage has left there. The route, from Radicofani to Rome, is divided into five sections, which correspond to as many chapters, all accompanied by topographic maps to identify the itineraries and what, along them, still speaks of the ancient road. This volume also concludes with a "cultural-gastronomic" proposal: a journey into the cuisine of Upper Lazio to discover local dishes and specialties which also have the ability to evoke the Middle Ages.
