Cassa di espansione del fiume Secchia

The establishment of the Secchia River Reserve (on the borders of the provinces of Reggio Emilia and Modena in the Po Valley) renews a pact of peace between man and the river environment, after in recent decades he has exploited it, often irrationally, natural resources. Here the events of the territory and the river merge, guaranteeing the essential elements for life for numerous plant and animal forms in continuous and rapid evolution. And where there is water, the presence of man with his history, his crafts and his traditions cannot be missing. The same man who today no longer has to fear the waters of the Secchia because he has returned its natural spaces to it, thus respecting the old popular saying which recalls: "the river never sells its lands, it only lends them".
