The heart of climbing in Lecco, but also for a good part of that in Milan and in the cities of the plains south of Lake Como, beats precisely on the large and small walls of the Grigne, whose development sometimes reaches 600 meters of verticality . It is here that for about a century mountaineers of the caliber of Ratti and Cassin have contributed decisively to the modern concept of rock climbing and mountaineering. This guide takes into consideration the multi-pitch routes of this massif that looms over the city of Lecco, and together with Lario Rock – Falesie, represents a technical and historical reference point for the knowledge and evolution of climbing on the walls around the Lario. From the historical itineraries of the 1930s, up to the numerous modern equipped routes, there is today an extremely wide possibility of action on the walls of Lecco. This volume aims to give a largely exhaustive picture of the current technical situation, ranging from Grigne to Resegone, from Monte San Martino to Valsassina, without neglecting the many smaller structures. The authors have given the work a slant that combines technical precision with a series of historical insights relating to the events and characters that have animated the vertical action on these walls over time. As in the previous edition, the events that led to the creation of many famous or highly difficult routes are explored in depth with specific cards accompanied by an iconographic apparatus enriched by rare images, very often unpublished. Considerable space was also given to the detailed description of the itineraries not only through an analytical text but also and above all through the routes on the photographs.
