Andamento lento

A hopeless diagnosis changed his vision of the world and pushed him to walk. One step after another, combining hard work and historic routes, reaching the point of seeing the ocean immediately after Santiago de Compostela, Andrea managed to keep cancer at bay. Then it was time for a new beginning: selling the house and living in a camper with his wife and dog Lucky. Declared incapacitated due to inoperable pancreatic cancer, Andrea Spinelli cannot work. His wife, who accompanies him and follows him in his medical odyssey, abandons her job to be by his side. It's time to make an important decision: to sell the house and live in a camper of just over six meters. “Tano the seagull”, this is the name with which the vehicle is baptised, becomes a home, a car, a den. It allows him to visit his Sicilian relatives twice and to strengthen his "fulltimer" spirit, that is, those who put dignity first in the scale of values and freedom second; everything else is life, which they love intensely. Under the rear window, Andrea pastes the sticker with the writing: “I'm going slowly, I have cancer, my last thought is to rush. Thank you for your patience."
