I cieli della Valle d'Aosta

This book wants to demonstrate that, in Valle d'Aosta, heaven and earth meet. The Valley has always been a longed-for destination, since ancient times, for the most important European passes, for the numerous and precious minerals, for the high peaks where the divinities were thought to reside. The discovery of surprising archaeological sites - with alignments pointing towards the sky, like magical references to a partly lost astral culture - enhance the link between the Aosta Valley and the cosmos. Furthermore, one cannot help but notice that there is still a strong oral tradition, largely astronomical, linked to peasant life. Finally, the text is intended to be an invitation to observe the starry vault, in order to prevent our thousand-year-old connection with the firmament from being lost and our sky from becoming a "lost sky".
