Astronomia e antica architettura sull'arco alpino

The careful study, conducted with the most modern survey and georeferencing techniques, has shown that the observation of the sky and the knowledge of the fundamental astronomical cycles shown by the sun, the moon and the stars, influenced in a very decisive way both the way of arranging the stones and the orientation of the resulting structures, with respect to the fundamental astronomical directions. Another very important aspect is related to the ritual and symbolic use that the ancient Alpine populations made of astronomical observations. Even at that time, as now, man was looking for answers in relation to his origin, his destiny and the world around him. This book describes the most recent results obtained from the archaeological, historical and astronomical study of the ancient Alpine populations and the finds they have left us and provides unprecedented answers to many questions that until now had remained without an adequate explanation.
