4 historical routes between Florence and Arezzo: Via Sancti Petri, Via Vecchia Aretina, Via dei Cavalieri, Via dei Monaci. The guide, edited by the Accademia Valdarnese del Poggio, the Italian Alpine Club Valdarno Superiore section and Aska Edizioni, was created after a long work of historical-artistic and naturalistic research on the basis of the CAI hiking routes, or on routes which follow state roads or partly asphalted arteries. The reader is offered four itineraries to follow on foot, each completed in five stages, which cross the valley, allowing you to learn about its landscape and cultural values from different perspectives. All the municipal territories of Valdarno are involved in the itineraries, which follow both hilly and valley bottom routes, on both banks of the Arno. The volume is accompanied by the altimetry of the route and enriched by a large iconographic set. Using appropriate digital media (QR codes), GPS tracks can be downloaded from the website www.caivaldarnosuperiore.com. The volume aims to be a useful tool for understanding the area for that category of travelers who make slow movement their characteristic in their free time, in order to come into very deep contact with the reality of the country.
