The Lanzo Valleys have always been considered the homeland of Turin mountaineering. Among these mountains, legendary guides accompanied, in their ascents, a good portion of the aristocracy and the subalpine upper class, just as on some of these rocks, some daredevils gave the go-ahead to "mountaineering without a guide". Entire generations of climbers have passed through these valleys, famous names and complete unknowns, from the heroic era to the years of protest. After a period of oblivion and history lived in the shadow of more famous places, the Lanzo Valleys intend to regain possession of their primacy and their tradition, applying themselves as one of the major areas of the Western Alps for the practice of climbing in all its shapes. Here, therefore, for the first time a work brings together fifty years of experiences on these walls, also containing very important historical documents and unpublished photographs. A book not to be missed for all climbing enthusiasts, whether practiced at a sporting level or on multi-length, environmental or modern routes. Last but not least, a meticulous cataloging of the bouldering sites in the valleys, with sketches, maps and climbing advice.
