The picture is completed by the beech woods, the rare high-altitude plants, the flowering between spring and summer. Those who love views and peaks can climb to Meta, Marsicano or Monte Amaro di Opi. Further down, hikers are welcomed by some of the most beautiful and history-rich villages of the Apennines, as well as hermitages and sanctuaries, ancient walls and traces of the Second World War. The National Park of Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise, born in 1922, is about to turn one hundred years old. Its magnificent paths, of different lengths and almost always well marked, continue to offer magnificent adventures to those who walk.
