They are the climbing partners of Chris Bonington who recounts his first steps on the low and rugged mountains of Wales and Scotland, his first climbs in the Alps, his first expeditions in the Himalayas. And then the great climbs and the decision to abandon his career in the business world to dedicate himself to the mountains full time. Bonington would become the most famous English mountaineer and write many successful books, but he would rarely find the freshness of this autobiography which finally appeared in Italy too.
