Second volume of the series dedicated to the best and most important articles appearing in the CAI magazine, after the one published at the end of 2009 dedicated to the '60s. The best of the best of the 1930s in thirty-six carefully selected articles, with the most prestigious signatures: Chabod, Comici, Mazzotti, Zapparoli, Gervasutti and many others. Open to the general collaboration of all mountain and mountaineering enthusiasts, what was called CAI Monthly Magazine continued, then as today, its long tradition in the diffusion of mountaineering culture. Born in 1882, the Monthly Magazine went through the entire exploratory period, the era of the sixth degree and two world wars, plus a post-war period hungry for heroism and exploits at a popular level. The 1930s were characterized by the golden age of the sixth grade and the transposition of the technical knowledge of Dolomite mountaineering to the Western one, as well as by the first major expeditions to Nanga Parbat and K2. In this period all the great walls were climbed, including the last Three Problems of the Alps. Ten glorious years, a precious and exciting documentation, with the most prestigious signatures, those of Comici, Soldà, Rudatis, Chabod, Wiessner, Gervasutti and many others.
