The Italian coasts of the Upper Adriatic preserve elements of high environmental and naturalistic interest; above all the wetlands are among the most important in Italy. The approximately 70 itineraries proposed in this guide can be done on foot, by bicycle or even by boat and canoe. Often these are visits to protected areas, other times to natural areas of free access. From the high cliffs of the Trieste coast, we move on to the long sandy coasts of Friuli and Veneto, interrupted by the mouths of the great Alpine rivers and the bodies of water in the lagoons. Further south we enter the large area of the Po Delta, until we reach the very important wetlands north of Ravenna where we can admire numerous species of birds that stop here during migrations, giving us sounds and images of times gone by.
