The various components and skills of the Alpine Club have teamed up to print this new manual whose aim is to present the state of the art of current knowledge on the High Lands. There are many topics addressed. From ethnography to the juridical and legal implications of responsibility for companions, from the history of mountaineering and skiing to cartography and orientation. Other chapters are dedicated to meteorology, geology, the study of glaciers, alpine ethics and ecology, nutrition and physical preparation, first aid. In total there are 28 chapters for 950 pages. The texts are accompanied by color images. The result of the transversal collaboration between the central technical bodies and the various schools of the CAI, the work is of an informative nature and aims to satisfy a wide range of users.
